While Pakistan persisted with military operations involving drone strikes in border areas, the Indian Army successfully intercepted and shot down several drones that were operating over the Khasa Cantt region in Amritsar, Punjab, early on Saturday morning.
A number of Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones were detected in the airspace over Amritsar, prompting the Indian Army to engage and eliminate them. The Indian Army shared a video of the incident on X, stating, ‘Pakistan’s overt escalation through drone strikes and other munitions persists along our western borders. In a recent occurrence, at around 5 AM today, several enemy armed drones were observed flying over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. Our air defense units promptly engaged and destroyed the hostile drones.’
Pakistan’s overt attempt to infringe upon India’s sovereignty and jeopardize civilian safety is intolerable. The Indian Army will counteract hostile intentions, the post continued. Meanwhile, residents in Jammu reported hearing loud explosions on Saturday morning, along with the sound of sirens during suspected incursions by Pakistani drones. Officials indicated that there was artillery and mortar fire in the Rajouri, Poonch, and Akhnoor sectors, as per a report from the Times of India.
